    Only keyboard and monitor not connecting to my computer for no reason.


    I have been trying to fix this for 4 hours now but nothing has worked. I’ve made sure all cables are correctly inserted, replugged everything in, tried every usb slot for the keyboard, tried using hdmi for the monitor, and tried another keyboard but nothing has worked. This started happening when I turned off my computer for an hour and came back.

    For some miraculous reason, I'm now connected. Yayy!! I tried again and again to connect using the connection steps from Logitech (as per Resourceful post) at first it wasn't even picking up the device. After so many times, the computer finally sees the
    keyboard on it's list. Thanks for all of your suggestions guys (and your patience too with my ranting) Only keyboard and monitor not connecting to my computer for no reason. :).

    Hi Lou,

    There are several possible reasons why your LCD monitor suddenly stopped working. It could be that the graphic driver is outdated or could be the cable used is already damaged.

    For us to isolate this problem, we would like to ask the following information:

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue?
    • Have you installed any updates?

    In the meantime, please try the following suggestions and see if your laptop will detect the LCD monitor:

    • Update the graphic card driver. Check out Update drivers in Windows 10 for the steps.
    • Use another cable. Try using another VGA cable to connect the LCD monitor to the laptop.
    • Connect the LCD monitor to another computer. To help us isolate the issue, try connecting the LCD monitor to a different computer.

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • What changes did you make in the BIOS? As making the changes in the BIOS is only recommended by Microsoft if done by the manufacturer.
    • How are you connecting to the 2nd monitor?
