Windows 10: Only One Ear Playing Sound On Wired Headphones

My headphones only work on one ear whenever I plug it into my laptop and ive basically already tried everything. i tried going to the sound to balance out the volume and that didnt work. i also tried resetting my sound settings but still nothing has changed. ive also tried to clean the cord hole in my laptop. i think my laptop just has something against wired headphones because i have a seperate pair of headphones that can be both bluetooth and wired. when i connect those headphones to my laptop using bluetooth both of the sides work perfectly fine, but when i take my headphone cord and plug i

Headphones sound is coming from opposite ear windows 10

my headphones which are the Plantronics rig 300hx, the sound is coming from the opposite ear, for example if im playing fortnite and I open a door on the right, the sound comes from the left headset ear. my temporary solution is to wear them backwards,
wondering if there was a setting to switch the sound around and if anyone could help me. By the way, I use a laptop that is connected to my monitor, not a pc.
