  1. Only P cores being utilized

The other day I was monitoring temps and core activity using Core Temp app on my Lenovo IdeaPad 5 laptop with a 12th gen. Intel 1235U CPU. I noticed as Windows 11 23H2 was doing updates that only one core was being used in a configurations of 2 P cores and 8 E cores.I knew that active core doing much of the work was a P core as the frequency it operated on exceeded the E core frequencies. What was interesting is that monitoring these cores activity with applications like Chrome and doing multiple tasks typically showed E cores doing mostly no work or only 1% of the work. Its sort of disappoint

  2. All cores not being utilized

    Hi saz1m,

Thank you for posting your questions here. my name is Anthony I am an Independent Advisor and a Windows 10 OS user like you.

I understand that there are questions regarding the utilization of cores for Intel Core I3 6006U.

Please let us work together to find the an answer for this question.

while it is true that inter core i3 has 4 cores in reality Microsoft advertises it as having only 2 cores this is because the additional 2 cores is reserved by Microsoft in case something might happen to the other 2 cores, however if you wanted to activate
the 2 backup cores please see this video bellow.

Let us use these troubleshooting steps provided on the link bellow

Please let me know on how I can provide further assistance saz1m. I will do my best to help.

Thank you again for posting this question , I am glad we where able to work together with this question.

Please continue to be safe and have a good day saz1m.
