Windows 10: Only showing 60hz after installing AMD software problem.

When I first got the laptop corsair a1600 R7-voyager, in the display settings, there was an option of 240hz and 60hz, and obviously I chose the 240hz screen display. However when I heard about this AMD smart access technology and enabling can get you more fps in games, I downloaded the AMD graphics driver set from their website. And because this laptop has a AMD cpu and a Ryzen gpu I wanted to try it out. But once I downloaded it and restarted my computer because it told me to, when I checked to see the display settings if anything has changed, the refresh rate option only had 60hz. I have a

Hello Rose and other interested parties,

Just generally browsing this afternoon I found in Settings/System/Tablet Mode

AMD E-300 APU with Radeon (TM) Graphics 1.3 GHz., installed 19/9/2017. So it looks like this illusive software has been installed but it is not listed in installed updates nor in the computer programmes list. I am grateful for your advice and help. It now
remains to be seen whether AMD software updates will completely install which is what started this problem

APU E-300 is a combination of central processing unit(CPU) and graphics accelerator unit(GPU) on a single chip. Since there was no problem with your graphics driver and you already have the recent update you may not install AMD software. To further assist
you, we'd like to know if you have tried checking your Device Manager to check your Display adapters.

Possible Cause

The AMD Radeon Software Package contains generic drivers that supports a wide range of AMD graphics products. A possible reason why the AMD Installer had failed to identify your graphics hardware and cannot continue installation is because it belongs in
one of these unsupported product groups:

• • AMD Embedded graphics
  • Legacy AMD graphics
  • Customized AMD graphics for an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) system

Solution

If you know the model of your AMD graphics hardware, you may use the
AMD Driver Selector to locate and download the appropriate driver. However, if you do not know the model of your AMD graphics hardware, please refer KB article:

If you are still unable to resolve Error 182 after completing the steps outlined above and need further assistance, please contact AMD Customer Care and attach the AMD Installer log file to your service request. The AMD Installer log file is located in
C:\Program Files\AMD\CIM\Log\Installer.log​

You need to put in your make and model of your PC and see if it has system drivers for Windows 10 OS. If so download and install all of them. But first go into device manager and uninstall the Graphics card drivers and then install what you downloaded and
restart PC.

If it does not have your drivers for Windows 10, then still do the uninstall graphics card, restart PC and then let it install the drivers again and see if this fixes the issue.

Can you provide me with your Brand and model of your PC or laptop.

Also, Go into programs and features and see if there are any AMD graphics software such as CCC Catalyst Control Center and uninstall it.
