Windows 10: Only some pictures are displayed as thumbnail and some are icons

I have the same issue as https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/only-some-pictures-are-displayed-as-thumbnail-and/b797b16d-2782-4259-b63c-10cf6b8a3445 and went thru all the same steps.When I did the very last one - create a new user profile, it did NOT have the issue. But the answer only says what to do if it does have the issue.So how do I fix my real account so it shows the thumbnails again? TIA Also - When I download jpg's from a web page right-click, save image as... those do show thumbnails, just not the pics already in the folder.

I did steps that you mention above, but a problem is the same; Some pictures are still displayed as thumbnail and some still are icons.

Hi Laura,

As per the above added info, I suggest that you follow the steps below and check.

1. Open the location where you images or saved.

2. Here click on the View Tab and then on the Option drop down.

3. Here click on the Change folder and search options.

4. Here under View tab, check the box Display file icon on thumbnails
and uncheck Always show icons, not thumbnails.

5. Click on Apply and OK.

Display file icon on thumbnails.

5. Click on Apply and OK.

6. Reboot the system and check.
