    Hi, I've gotten myself into quite a pickle.I ran into memory issues after installing my new graphics card, and I was told it was most likely because I have broken drivers. In order to clean reinstall them, I went to recovery mode to boot in safe mode. The only option I had in recovery mode however was UEFI firmware settings. I tried the command reagentc /enable in which I was met with the error message "REAGENTC.EXE: Unable to update Boot Configuration Data.". I then looked up how to fix or recreate my BCD, but all the solutions involved going to recovery mode and running commands from the com

    uefi firmware settings

    I did have UEFI Firmware Settings under settings / update and security / recovery / advanced startup - restart now

    and then under troubleshooting /advanced

    but it is no longer listed... how can I get the UEFI Firmware settings back into recovery?

    I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 (32Bit), Since, I have lost access to my DVD drive. The Device Manager shows:

    The drive has always been connected and worked fine with Windows 7; the hardware has never been altered or messed about with.

    So I decided to check the UEFI Firmware Settings via Settings>Recovery>Advanced Set Up>Troubleshoot>Advanced Options I don't get the option to enter UEFI Firmware Settings; All I get is the System Restore, System Image Recovery, Startup Repair, Command Prompt and Startup Settings

    Any help on resolving this issue this will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    One possible reason why the UEFI Firmware Settings suddenly went missing is because of a recent update. To better assist you, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Were there any recent updates installed on your computer prior to this happening?
    • What is the current version of your Windows 10? To check, type in winver on
      Cortana's search field and press Enter.
    • What is the make and model of your computer?
    • Does your computer have a legacy BIOS or does it have a UEFI firmware? To check, type in
      MSINFO on Cortana's search field and press Enter. Look for the BIOS Mode parameter and the the corresponding value.
