Windows 10: Open a link outside browser, it opens a new window, but it's a new tab

I've been facing this issue for quite some time. Whenever, I click a link which is outside browser i.e chat, another app. It opens in the browser but its a new window and its blank.For example, I was logging in my epic games account and it wanted verification in browser. Instead of open the login page in browser, it opened a blank new browser window.Can someone help me fix this issue please? I use windows 11

Microsoft Edge - Link Opens In Same Tab/Force Browser To Open New Tab

Hello,

I can not find a solution to this and I was hoping someone would know the answer. I have users in my company that are complaining about a URL link opening in the same tab. This causes what they were working on to be erased.

Let me provide more detail:
These users are using a call system in order to input tickets. If they do not finish the ticket and a new call comes in, a new ticket will pop up deleting their old ticket they were working on.

I have suggested they finish the ticket before taking a new call. I have also suggested that they keep notes outside of the ticket system, but they are determined to change the browser setting like we did in IE. (I even suggested getting the call manager provider on the phone) ... They really want to change the way Microsoft Edge handles opening a new website.

Does anyone know how to change these settings like we were able to in IE?

• When you say that "Whenever I click open link in new tab", are you referring of opening link in the new tab or clicking on link in a particular page to open in new tab?
• When you say that "the link opens in a new tab but also in the page I'm on", is the link opens in the new tab near to the open websites?

I suggest you to send the screenshot of the issue in the next post.

Open new tab / window in S60 browsers. 2 techniques

On my 5800 UK v5.0.005



1) Open web browser... brings up list of book marks

2) Options -> Go to -> New web page

3) enter www.newtab.co.uk, then press Go to

4) Press arrow icon in bottom-right

5) Options -> Subscribe to web feed

6) Select "New Tab"



That's the set up.. Now to use it



1) Open google.com

2) Select Options -> Go to -> Web feeds

3) Select "New tab" from the feeds list

4) Select "Open new tab" from list

5) Select "Open new tab" from top of web page

Now there are two windows



Try deleting the feed from your phone, then following those steps.. let me know how you get on
