Windows 10: Open a Sharepoint link in FIle explorer

Hi,My company uses Sharepoint and I despise it. My computer is synced to Sharepoint so all company files show in file explorer on my computer. People frequently send me links to files they want me to review and comment on or add a section to. I want to be able to easily open the sharepoint link they send me such that it opens the folder where the file is located in file explorer, NOT sharepoint, because 1-I hate using Sharepoint and 2-I will need to go into the file frequently for a period of time and I want to be able to find it, and 3-if someone does a save as of that file and starts a

File Explorer crashes on Quick Access Recent files item

Hi Loreto,

Clearing recent files does indeed allow File Explorer to open but my client did as I suggested and left recent files turned off for a few days and then turned it back on. It worked for a while but then started crashing again.

Two users at the same site have now reported the same problem which suggests it's not an individual user doing something unusual. It is very possible that they are working on the same documents in the same project.

The kind of documents in there will be:

• Documents opened directly from SharePoint
• Documents opened from File Explorer viewing a SharePoint document library
• Documents opened from File Explorer using a mapped drive to a SharePoint document library
• Documents opened from Office 365 OneDrive

It's definitely a bug! Some threads have suggested bizarrely that it's linked to screen scaling?? And they do have a monitor and laptop screen with different scaling.

Edge and SharePoint "Open with Explorer" doesn't work

I know this has been asked and answered here

But that was in 2014 and you are still suggesting a work around as the solution. We use this as the "easy" way to move files. Adding 5 steps that may work, and ways to tweak settings if it doesn't, that's not easy anymore.

Are there plans of addressing this issue? I think this will seriously affect groups in the migration process, and really bother power users.

Restore SharePoint mappings in Windows Explorer

In my company we use a selfmade tool which makes a backup of network mappings, installed network printers, specific user settings, custom files/folders, ... We are now in a transition to Office 365 and SharePoint.

If you go via a web browser to a SharePoint Document Folder you have a button Sync. This button adds a link to the SharePoint Document Folder in your Windows Explorer.

My goal is to make a backup of these SharePoint links so that I easily can add these links back in Windows Explorer if a user gets a new computer (or in case computer must be reinstalled).

• I found out that these "SharePoint links" are stored in the registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OneDrive\Accounts
• I exported that branch out of the registry.
• Then I stopped the sync of the SharePoint Document Folders in my Windows Explorer so the links are gone.
• I than imported the registry keys but this does not show the SharePoint Document Folders in my Windows Explorer (even not after a restart)

Does someone know how to solve this?
