Windows 10: OPEN DOCS. OXPS to XPS CONVERTER window DISTORTS saved pages

When trying to open a saved document, OXPS to XPS converter box. With Macintosh ANSI at the bottom of converted unreadable text with many unrecognizable symbols appears gibberish text , that is 24 pages long for simple one page saved item. Never had any Apple products on this HP laptop that was updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10 a few years ago, this issue was not a problem in 2020. Would any update fix this? All auto Windows 10 updates including 2022 have been done. 2-10-2022 Thanks Leo H. MICROSOFT please fix, anyone there, HELP!

XPS printing from Edge browser does not print images to XPS

It worked with that page. I could open it in XPS Viewer but may have to be converted, it saves as an *.oxps file.

UPDATE: further testing showed the .oxps file converter didn't work, froze up. I resaved as .xps but just as you saw the images weren't there, only the place holders for things like the Page number image.

I can use Save page and get a file plus a Folder with all the support elements, opening the page shows everything like online so I'm thinking the 'path' to the storage of various parts of the page isn't allowing picking up everything.

 

Printing to XPS no longer opens document prior to saving

• Are you trying to set the default program for XPS documents?

If yes, you may follow these steps and check if it helps:

a. Press
Windows key + Q on the keyboard.

b. Type “Default programs” without quotes and press
Enter.

c. Click on
Associate a file type or protocol with a program.

d. Scroll down to find “.oxps” (OXPS file) and double click on it.

e. Select
XPS viewer from the list and click on Close.

The above steps will set the XPS viewer as default for the XPS documents.

You may also use the Windows Reader to view XPS files. Let us know if you have any questions.

 

Converting .OXPS to .TXT

.oxps is an XML file format, the best application to open that in would be Excel and from there you can save that as a Text file or a comma separated text file . ..

Open Windows File Explorer (folder icon on your Taskbar)

On the view Ribbon, temporarily turn on 'File Name Extensions' so you can see the file extension

Create a copy of that file and change the .oxps file extension to .xml

Then try opening that file in Excel, if you do not have Excel installed,try Excel online:

If you still cannot open that file, copy that file to the Cloud (Onedrive, DrpBox . . .etc.) then provide a link here and i will convert that to text for you . . .
