Windows 10: Open file location

Discus and support Open file location in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; When I select "Open file location" it opens the program folder. EDIT: The issue may be that I used "ProgramLocation\ProgramName"... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Support' started by rdwray, Dec 17, 2016.

    Open file location


    When I select "Open file location" it opens the program folder.

    EDIT: The issue may be that I used "ProgramLocation\ProgramName" "FileLocation\FileName" to open the file because it is Excel and this prevents it opening in the same instance.

    EDIT 2: That is the problem, never noticed it before.

    Right click the file and choose Properties/Location/Find Target what does it say?

    I assuming you know I am dealing with a shortcut in Windows 10. I find "Properties > Open File Location" but not "Find Target".

    One of the problems I find with Windows 10 is that depending on what kind of shortcut (folder, file, etc...) you are clicking on, you get a different menu.
