Windows 10: Open File - Security Warning ~ how to remove

Hi all,


If I save a file such as an image to my hard drive, when I open it later from explorer I get the pop-up box for a Security Warning. It's obvious why, just protecting me from bad guys. However, this box requires me to unclick 'Always ask before opening this file' which I do to keep the box away. Then I have to click 'Open' to access the file.


If this only happens once per file it's just annoying, but it happens every time I move the file to a different folder. The box pops up and I have to click two buttons. As it is, my anti-antiware programs check everything I download, save, copy, or wipe off the screen. Not to mention scouring the website or wherever the file came from. I don't need this extra security measure in the first place.


So. Is there anyway I can remove, disable, destroy, or disfigure this box that says 'Open File - Security Warning' so it doesn't interrupt my file shuffling?

That's ok. To help clarify for everyone, which registry editing did you use and apply?

In addition, what error message are you trying to get rid of?

If you mean for the "Open-File Security Warning" message, then you could use the download in step 5 of OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to disable it.

Getting this security warning


Warning That is most definitely a scam, whatever you do don't call that number, don't allow that page open pop-ups!

You said that page will open every time you open Edge. That might be because the site has added it to the list of pages that opens whenever Edge is launched. I've see this happen when user has accidentally visited a not too safe site. Check that list first, if the page is there remove it by clicking the X after the site address. See screenshot:

When I try to open a shortcut pointing to an executable on a Network Storage device (DROBO5N) on my network I get the following message:

How do I disable this warning message. Local shortcuts work fine.
