    I think the lengthy title says it all, to give more detail I have a HP Laptop with a second extended screen. Every once in a while after signing back in after being away from my computer all the open programs will have moved position. Any that were on the laptop screen will have moved to the second screen, and the full screen or windowed setting and size will have also changed on those staying on the second monitor.


    I've finally narrowed it down to it happening either when having an Outlook email open and/or a Word file open. Just having Outlook open does not cause the issue. Programs besides Office programs are affected their screen or screen position changes.


    I am currently running Windows 10, ver 20H2, but this has been an issue since I installed the Office program again 2019 Home Business.

    outlook opens word?

    If you use a version of Outlook prior to v. 2007, there's a checkbox in one of the preferences tabs which controls this. You can choose Word or Outlook Editor.

    V. 2007 no longer includes Outlook Editor, though. It has it's own 'light' verson of Word 2007 built in.

    Yes it does. *Smile Open Outlook Emails and/or Word Files Cause Programs To Change Position On Screen After... :) Outlook uses word for message composition.
