Windows 10: Open pages disappear to show desktop with <2mins idle

I need to keep an open page of say a pdf or spreadsheet on my monitor, while I check things against books. Just bought a new HP with windows 11 on it. Unless I keep moving the mouse, the page I'm looking at disappears and the desktop background comes up. When I move the mouse, the page reappears. I have "turn off screen" set to 1 hr, sleep to 2hrs. Background is a slide show of my own photographs. Anyone know how to stop this?

Word Doesn't Open A Fiile in an Idle Window + Status Bar Disappears

Hi,
I am using Windows-10 Version 2004 (OS Build 19041-964) and Office-365.
Of late, I am having a couple of issues with Word.

In the past, when we close a word document, Word Application remains open, call this Idle Window.
When I open any Word document, it is used to be opened in the Idle Window.

But now, Word creates another Instance and opens this document in that Window, and irritatingly, the Idle Window is getting maximised.

And, most of the time status bar disappears.

Appreciate any suggestions to overcome these issues.

How to print a page of my desktop

To take a print of your desktop, I suggest you to follow the steps provided below.

• 
  Go to desktop.
  
• 
  Press Print Screen key from your keyboard.
  
• 
  Open Paint application.
  
• 
  Press Ctrl + V key.
  
• 
  If the printer is connected, press Ctrl + P.
  
• 
  Select the printer to print the page and click on
  OK button.

Desktop Disappeared

my laptop is running Windows 10. I opened it one day and saw that my desktop had disappeared. In it's place was the Windows screen showing all my apps. When I right clicked and chose desktop, it was blank. No shortcuts whatsoever . I read some articles and
checked my tablet mode and theme page for errors,, but found none. Both System Mechanic and Trend Micro said I had a healthy machine. I thought that perhaps an update would fix it , so I installed the May 2004 update. That did not help at all. Also I can't
navigate to certain pages like the update page. It just hangs.

Does anyone out there have a solution or suggestion?
