Windows 10: Open Taskbar Icons Only Highlighting When Active

Hello,Apologies if the wording of my initial question is a bit confusing. Essentially, if I open an app, it will show up on my taskbar as normal. But instead of all of my currently open apps being highlighted, only the one that's "active" or I'm currently using is highlighted. This is very annoying as sometimes I'll have an app that's pinned in my taskbar and I don't realize it's open, slowing my computer down. I have been unable to find anyone who's having this same issue, and any common fixes have been unhelpful. If anybody's able to provide some insight into this it would be greatly appreci

How to configure taskbar to highlight open applications, like in win7?


In the taskbar, Win10 only highlights the active application icon. The other icons look the same, regardless if the application is open or not.

Is there an option to make all open, running applications highlight in the taskbar like in Win7? Thanks!

 

Multiple displays taskbar icon highlight problem

In the current Windows 10, when I connected multiply displays, the taskbar icons only shew clearly in the main taskbar that they were opened. Although some apps were running in the second display, their icons were not highlighting unless the window was
activated. I couldn't know whether the apps were running or not without checking the main taskbar. That's really terrible. The icons should be highlighted in the display where they were running. Is there anyway to change this behavior? Or it's just some problem
with my system?

 

Taskbar Icons not Highlighted?


Hi just a quick question and wondered if anyone else has this? My Taskbar Icons don't highlight when in use, I'm used to seeing them highlighted in W7 and miss that as I often close W10 with something open in the background, like notepad or something..

Is there a way to force them to highlight when open/in use?
