Windows 10: Opening BitLocker-encrypted word/pdf files

I have tried to open my pdf/word files, which were all encrypted by BitLocker. I unlocked my file drives using my passwords. Yet all my pdf/word/PowerPoint files remain encrypted and can't open. It replies access is denied. Based on the recommendations I received from Microsoft users from this web, I tried to change security permissions to everyone following right clicking Files/folders -> Properties -> Security -> Advanced -> click on Owner -> Click on Change Select your Username -> Select checkbox Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entr

Reading pdf files in Word

How can I use Word 2013 and Word 365 to open a .pdf file? If I right click on the .pdf file and choose Open With, no Word exist in the list.

Hello,

Regarding your PDF documents, the location will be based on where you saved the files. For your second inquiry, your documents can be converted to a PDF. If the original file is from Office Word, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• 
  In Word, select File > Save As.
  
• 
  Select where you want to save the file.
  
• 
  Type a new File name if you want.
  
• 
  For Save as type, select PDF.
  
• 
  For Optimize for, select an option: Standard or
  Minimum Size.
  
• 
  Select Open File After Publishing, if you want to open the file after you save it as a PDF. This is selected by default.
  
• 
  Select Save.

I suggest you to perform below mentioned steps to disable BitLocker.

To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Change View by from Category
  to Large Icons/Small Icons.
  
• 
  Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
  Turn BitLocker Off.
  
• 
  Follow on screen instructions. Click on Decrypt the Drive
  when the message appears.
