  1. Opening .DB file

    Hi, all,

I'm trying to open .DB file which comes with EPI Suite software from EPA https://www.epa.gov/tsca-screening-tools/download-epi-suitetm-estimation-program-interface-v411

FYI it can be installed for free on personal and commercial computers.

I can't open it with DB Browser SQLite; I get an error "Could not open database file. Reason: file is not a database."

I can't open it with DB Browser SQLCipher because it asks for a password.

I thought it is an encrypted database file, but I can open it with a text editor like Notepad although the data is not organized and not usable.

So I'm thinking the file is not encrypted.

So far I've tried opening it with MS Access, LibreOffice, and a few other applications with no success.

I even looked up how to parse information in a .DB file using Notepad++, etc.

    Can someone help?

    :)

  2. DB files

    Hi Diarmid,

A .db file is a database file format for Windows. It stores data information in a series of tables, table files, and field data values. To best address your concern, we need to answer the following questions:

    • Which application are you using to open the .db file?
    • Are you getting an error message when trying to open the file? If yes, kindly provide us a screenshot.

We will be waiting for your response.

    opening .dds files with gimp

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?
