Windows 10: opening emf files

Discus and support opening emf files in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I can't use windows photo viewer to open my emf files, it isn't in the list, and then if I select it via search it doesn't work...     Harry Fool,

    You know what's interesting? Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry interesting? EMF files can still be inserted into Word - for now. Windows is no longer a useful tool for us Engineering Design and Development guys anymore. Step backwards it is.

    Set "Photos" for opening .emf files in Windows 10

    Does Windows 10 Photos support Windows Enhanced Metafiles? In Control Panel, default programs, set program associations, Photos --> .emf is not listed as an extension. That's weird.

    In Control Panel, default programs, associate a file type or protocol with a specific program - .emf is there - but Photos is not an option to open this file type. Paint is, as so is Microsoft Office. Hey, we can go to the store and spend $$$. Nah, I
    don't think so.

    OK - I'm afraid the registry might have to be edited to solve this. Or, is Windows Photos incompatible with Windows Enhanced Metafile graphics? That doesn't make any sense at all - but we've seen stranger things in our days on this planet. opening emf files :)

    Any assistance will greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

    With regard to your concern, Microsoft Photos app does not support .emf. Currently, the default program to open the file is Microsoft Paint.
