Windows 10: Opening hyperlinks in Microsoft Mail

When I try to open a hyperlink in Microsoft Mail (Windows 10, Microsoft 365), the link opens in Chrome but does not automatically pop-up on screen. The Chrome icon on the taskbar just flashes and I must then click on the Chrome icon to view the link's content. Is there a way to configure Mail so that the link automatically pops up in Chrome on my screen? This may seem like a silly little problem, but when I click on a link I'd actually like to see it right away. Thank you!

Windows 10 mail hyperlinks

Hi,

Since the option above did not work, we suggest resetting the Mail application by following the steps below:

• Click Settings and choose System.
• Click on Apps & features, scroll down at the right side and choose
  Mail and Calendar.
• Click Advance options then click Reset tab (A check mark will show up when reset is done.).
• Open Mail app, sign-in on your account and check if you will be able to click on the hyperlinks.

NOTE: Resetting it might delete the data/appointments that you have on the Calendar. We suggest performing a back up before resetting it.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

Please follow the steps below on how to repair Windows Live Mail:

1. Click on the Start icon and select, Control Panel.

2. Under Programs & Features, click Uninstall a Program.

3. Locate Windows Live Essential then click Uninstall/Change.

4. When a window appears, select Repair all Windows Live programs.

5. Restart your computer after the repair.
