Windows 10: Operating system boot mode change

I have a HP laptop that suddenly shows the message "Operating System Boot Mode Change 021" with the option Code + Enter to complete or ESC to continue without changing. I have not initiated any change, so I always press ESC. After that, Windows 11 runs normally. However, the next time I restart the laptop, the same message comes up.What should I do? Do I run the boot mode change or how can I get rid or this notification?

I suggest you to check if you are able to boot the computer into Safe Mode environment.

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:

• 
  Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
  
• 
  Select an option to “Safe mode with networking” using the arrow keys on the keyboard when the Windows Advanced Options menu
  appears, and then press ENTER.
  

Also, try updating your BIOS drivers and check.

To better assist you, do let us the complete message that you receive.

Sometimes, this could be due to two operating system installed in your computer. Just to make sure this is not the case, I suggest you to try the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + R.

2. Type msconfig and press enter.

3. Click the "boot" tab and check if there are any other operating system listed.

4. In addition, change the timeout time to 3 seconds(default)

1. Are you trying to re-install Windows on the PC?
   
2. Have you made the changes to boot the PC using a USB?
   
3. Did you create an installation media to install Windows?
   
4. When you say, “the PC is broken”, are you unable to boot to the desktop?

Note: Reinstalling Windows will remove all the applications installed on the PC, also it is advised to take a backup of data before re-installing Wnidows.
