Optical Drive seen as SCSI Device by Windows 10

Greetings to All, I am using the latest version of Windows 10. The problem is my Win10 sees my Optical Drives as a SCSI device when in my thinking they should be seen as IDE or ATAPI devices (not sure which one). In short, I can see my Optical Drives nested in my Device Manager tree (circled in RED in the screen shot), but it appears with a YELLOW triangle with an exclamation mark. When I open the Property window for the Optical Drive I see this error: " The device cannot start (Code 10) STATUS DEVICE POWER FAILURE." My Optical Drive is connected to a Marvell 9512 SATA Controller PCI-E card via a SATA cable (ran out of MB SATA ports). What do I need to change so I can maintain my Optical Drive connected to my Marvell SATA Controller card and avoid using my onboard SATA ports? (Don't have any more onboard SATA ports free to use) I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Optical Drive driver. Also poked around in the BIOS for my SuperMicro motherboard but I could not find any parameter that stood out to me. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. https://www.tenforums.com/images/attach/jpg.gif

    :)

    Optical Drive Issue

    Hello Anak –

Appreciate your detailed return. Your added steps really helped.

Assuming I did the steps correctly, this is where I am now.

Screenshot 12 shows my CD Disc shortcut on my desktop.
Screenshot 10 shows the CD Drive shortcut listed in the “Send to” listing.
Screenshot 11 shows the “Send to” listing after the steps were taken, but the CD drive name is not listed.

So, it appears the steps did not work for me. And, I did try the steps, “If it still won’t do ……” and still no luck.

    What do you think?

    JerryA
