Hello Microsoft Tech Community members, I am interested in learning more about how to optimize the performance of my data center using Microsoft technologies. I currently have a large amount of data stored in my data center and I am looking for ways to improve the efficiency and reliability of my infrastructure. I am particularly interested in learning more about how I can leverage Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Azure, and System Center to optimize my data center performance.   In search select Defragment and optimize drives
  
• 
  Click on change settings
  
• 
  In optimization schedule
  
• 
  In frequency select the options accordingly.

  What exactly happens when you try to optimize the drive?
  
• 
  Are you getting any error message?
  
• 
  Since when are you facing this issue?
  

I suggest you to use Administrator account to perform Optimization and check if it helps.

I suggest you to follow the steps below.

• 
  Go to Search, type services.msc and hit Enter
  
• 
  Make sure that following services are set to Automatic:
  
• 
  Remote Procedure Call (RPC).
  
• 
  DCOM Server Process Launcher.
  
• 
  RPC Endpoint Mapper.
