Windows 10: option to remove constant PIN requests every time I walk away is greyed out

Like many others I am trying to stop windows 11 from doing intrusive , unwanted things .Today its the constant need to enter a PIN number EVERY time I walk away for even a couple minutes .As usual the answer appears to be buried deep within hidden menus described by symbols which I haveno idea what they mean ?I have tried going into accounts and shutting things off . In typical windows 11 fashion the OS appearsto ignore the user's demands ."If you've been away, when should windows require you to sign in again ." The choices for this selection are greyed out and cannot be changed .My question i

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

How to disable password and pin request?

Follow the below steps to remove PIN from your Windows login account.

1. Open the Settings, and click/tap on the Accounts icon.
2. Select Sign-in options, and click/tap on I forgot my PIN.
3. Click/tap on Continue.
4. Leave the PIN fields empty, and click/tap on Cancel.
5. Your PIN will now be removed.

 

Sign-in taking time after setting up PIN

I understand that it is frustrating when the features don’t work the way there are supposed to. Usually, it takes time to login using the PIN after setting it up for the first time, as Windows optimizes and connects all the applications
linked to your Microsoft account to give access using the PIN.



I suggest you to try logging in again and wait for some time to let Windows optimize the PIN for next use.



However, if you want to remove the PIN you can follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Login to the PC using password, and go to
   Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
   
2. Under PIN click on
   Remove.
   
3. Enter the password and click on
   OK.
   
4. Restart the PC.
