Windows 10: Optional update

So I am seeing this optional update with this most recent update . and i been wondering about these for a while now. I know it says optional is there a way to ignore them? I am only interested in Updates that i NEED to keep windows working well and not updates that are optional and just eat up disc space.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Method 1: Windows Update.

Follow the steps provided below to change update settings.

  Go to start page and type
  Windows Updates.

  Click on Windows Update settings
  under settings.

  Click on Advance options
  
• 
  Under “Choose how Updates get installed”. In the drop down menu, select the option which is convenient to you.

  Click on Save.

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.
