    frustrating

Microsoft didn't create Java and doesn't maintain it. Java is maintained by Oracle.

Oracle ordered to blitz users with Java security warnings

The ox is slow, but the earth is patient.

For years, I had seen people listing running processes that included java runtime update executable and an outdated java runtime version. Too bad the order doesn't say anything about the installed and running java runtime update executable that doesn't update.
