Windows 10: OS crash when disconnecting display (capture card)?

I started tooling around with a second PC with a capture card. Specifically I have an RTX 2060 on the main PC and an AVerMedia C985 capture card on the second PC, and I'm on Win10 version 2004. What Windows 10 on my main PC does when I switch the second PC on is really slick, and the problem comes when I switch it off. Basically Windows seems to try and restore display settings once it detects this extra display (capture card) being connected or disconnected, which in my case is switching from 4K on displays 1 thru 3 to 4K on display 1, 1080p on display 2, mirrored on 4 (the capture card), and disable display 3. Display 4 is not present in display settings when that second PC is not powered on.

When I shut down the second PC, Windows crashes. I can see it beginning to switch the desktop geometry back, but the OS locks up and eventually all displays will shut off. The only thing I can do at that point is reboot. Looking at one of my Synergy clients on another computer the PC still is on the network until I power off, and the Synergy server is unresponsive. Is this known, has anyone experienced this? How should I work around this?

OS drive disconnecting while in use

Okay so my SSD (listed in specs) keeps disconnecting itself while my desktop is in use. What happens is I'll be sitting there and suddenly progams stop working and crashing. Then Task Managerwwon't come up, followed by more programs and background services and then a BSOD.

When it reboots the SSD isn't listed until I disconnect the power and boot it. Works for a bit, then drops again.

Halp plz. I'm missing out on WCG crunching.

 

Having issues with the new update and capture card

To understand the issue better, I would like to know do ‘’when you say update’’ do you refer to November update (Windows 10 Version 1511)?

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the capture card driver and check. Follow the below steps:

  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Locate for the device (Capture card) and click on it to expand.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  

Go to the capture card manufacturer website, download and install the latest capture card driver.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
