Windows 10: OS is on disk1, System Reserved is on disk0. Cannot allocate the rest of disk0

Windows 10 was installed on a 1 TB SSD (disk1) and used all the space on that drive. The System Reserved space was placed on a 4 TB HDD and 2 TB of space was allocated to a 2nd volume. The problem is that there is another 2 TB of unallocated space on Disk0! I been reading online and both disks are formatted with MBR. As I understand it there is a limit with a disk formated in MBR and that limit is 2TB. My question is


How do I allocate that unused space on disk0?


The normal right-click menu items are grayed out that would allow me make a simple, spanned, or spliced volume. My system will not boot if I disable disk0 (unplug), the one with the System Reserved space. I have since read that I should have installed Windows 10 with my 2nd drive disabled, but ... water under the bridge now. I have tried to 'Repair Installation' by booting the original Windows 10 DVD but it doesn't do anything. I made a system repair disk and tried the same with the same results. I tried booting into windows, inserting the windows DVD then unplugging disk0 to try to 'reinstall' windows 10 on disk1 (C but got error message saying that windows could not determine if I could upgrade or not. I guess that would because the System Reserved area contains the boot configuration etc. Here is a picture of my Disk Manager.



Does anyone have any idea of how I can allocate that unallocated area to a new volume or expand E: to span the unallocated space. The menu item to expand the volume on drive E: is also grayed out ( I assume due to the 2TB limitation on MBR formatted drives. )

Win10 on Disk1

I am running Win7 on Disk1 rather than Disk0 (Disk0 is not being used but is usable).

My machine meets all criteria for installing Win10 and I would like to install it over Win7, but I am unable to reserve a copy of Win10 and wonder if it is because of the way my system is arranged.

Yep it's primary but it also has another 450mb restore partition,

That and it's showing as Disk0 is why the delay or not starting up properly

With all that said the bios boot order is off meaning it's attempting to boot to disk0 instead of disk1

Disk1 should be Disk0 it has the os on it not disk0 as it reads now

So yes it is screwed up

Best way to correct is to reinstall without the secondary disk installed and without the uefi install nonsense.

So, I made a comment on how I ended up fixing this. Let me first start with thanks to the commenters for their input. I did end up using AOMEI but nothing was easy, as I explained it would not be easy.

Starting off, I shrunk Disk1(Bad Disk) part1 about 500mb.
I created a partition on Disk1 named System Reserved. Exact size of the one on Disk0.

I then gave Disk0 System Reserved a drive letter to allow exploring it for some items I need.

I opened the view options of folder exploring so that I can see hidden and system files.

I opened Disk0 System Reserved and took a copy of Boot Folder, Bootmgr.exe, BootSect.bak

These were copied to the System Reserved Disk1(Bad Disk).

Changed Disk1 System Reserved to Active, Disk0 System Reserved to Inactive

I disconnected Disk0.

I rebuilt boot using commands in Advanced Repair Mode Cmd Prompt

Now Windows starts without Disk0 (good disk) all together. Very Slowly and with lots of read faults and junk. Good enough.

Now I have the ability to plug in good drive and clone bad to good.

Unplug bad drive... destroy bad drive...

Why was this so hard. Cloning a drive to another, the other needs to be empty.
Cloning a partition requires you pay for that software to unlock that feature.

The truth- I didn't want to have to reinstall jack. Is what I did recommended. No. I relied on my bad drive not giving out completely before I had a working copy of my contents. I did a lot of changes to partitions and disks that can break everything.

What I should have done... Gotten another drive and moved my windows partition to it...
