Windows 10: OS Microst8.1 Need help finding the product key to see if my computer is Win11 compatable?

Im running Win 8.1 and I'm trying to find the product keyI've tried entering this in the registryHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersionwhich is supposed to take me to Product ID key which I'm supposed to right click onbut I don't see Product ID in the drop down menuI'm trying to see if my computer is Win11 compatable. Any help will be appreciated

You can also try extracting the Windows product key using the WMIC command on command prompt. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows +
   S key together to open Search.
   
2. Now type CMD and select Run as administrator.
   
3. Accept the UAC prompts.
   
4. Type in the following command and hit enter:
   wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

Need help finding OS license key

you can do a couple things.. Hope this helps..

• call your OEM and give them your serial number and they will give you the key.
• Install the new Windows 8 Developer Preview

 

2 OSes, 1 Product Key?


I created a Windows 10 installation media on a USB stick under Windows 8.1 Pro (Full Retail) on my new computer. My old computer had Windows 8.1 Pro (OEM). I ran setup.exe on the USB stick under each 8.1 Pro OS. They both ended up with the same product key. Why? Which license is associated with the product key?

BTW, both OSes are activated.
