Windows 10: OS upgrade error - Windows server 2019 to WIndows server 2022 - In place upgrade method

I've been trying to upgrade the OS of my Windows instance from 2019 to the Windows Server 2022 version using the In-place upgrade method. I've attached a volume containing Windows 2022 installation media to the instance and performed the update. But the upgrade failed showing the following error:0xC1900101 - 0x30018The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE operationHow can I overcome this issue?I upgrade the drivers first and afterward upgraded the domain controller schema to the latest as the server is hosting a domain controller.Next, I attac

Upgrade OS for Windows Server 2019 and ADFS

Currently running a single Windows Server 2019 with ADFS.
I would like to upgrade the OS to version 20121, which I assume (?) would upgrade ADFS to version 4.
Is it as "simple" as performing an in-place upgrade?
I read several articles on upgrading an ADFS farm, which requires additional servers -

Shows that it is supposed to be possible to upgrade Server 2016 to Server 2022

So why is it not giving the option to 'keep files, settings and apps'?

Can't perform in-place upgrade from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2019

When I run the Windows Server 2019 installer to upgrade from Windows Server 2019, the option for an in-place upgrade is greyed out. How can I perform an in-place upgrade?

When I use this: dism /online /get-targeteditions

I get this: (The current edition cannot be upgraded to any target editions).

DISM says my current edition is ServerDatacenter.
