Windows 10: OS using ~40% memory

Discus and support OS using ~40% memory in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; Of the 16 GB of RAM I have, only about ~2 GB of that is used by me, yes task manager says 57% is being used (~9 GB).     OS using ~40% memory


    Of the 16 GB of RAM I have, only about ~2 GB of that is used by me, yes task manager says 57% is being used (~9 GB). I'm concerned because last time something like this happened, it was Windows' memory leak that caused it and it was a very involved process to fix it, of which I've forgotten. I'd like to fix this, as it has affected the performance of other applications (and the previous time was a bad windows update install).

    How would I go about fixing this?

    • Open Control Panel and type memory in the search bar.
    • Click on Diagnose computer memory problems to open it.
    • If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    OS using ~40% memory

    Choice of memory and motherboard... a bit stuck...

    No one who got some suggestions on this one, huh?

    I've found out that the Asus M3A78-T needs to be flashed, so then that motherboard is excluded from my list. Which motherboard and memory should I then go for? Any suggestions?
