Windows 10: Other User not appearing after you lock machine

Discus and support Other User not appearing after you lock machine in User Accounts and Family Safety to solve the problem; Hi We want to log in with a user and create a VPN and then lock it and log in with another user thats domain user.     Hi

    We want to log in with a user and create a VPN and then lock it and log in with another user thats domain user.

    This was all fine for years but all of a sudden the Other User option is not avaialnble to then add another account and log in?

    We havent had any GPOs enabled or disabled - its just we have Windows 10 20h2

    Any ideas anyone?

    At the moment if we switch user or lock we only have the 1 other local account we create but there is no "other user" to then log in to

    The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

    Removing a "hidden" user and user files

    Thanks for your patience. I was able with "Net User" to remove the left over user. It no longer appears when I invoke Net User.

    Now for the user's folder which remains behind. After performing the series of steps that you suggested, I attempted to delete this folder. The result again was an error message about permission

    "Administrators" appears on the list in the list of advanced security.
