    Hey there, as you can see in the screenshot, I've got 6 GB of free memory out of 16 GB, but the browser keeps complaining about low memory. Also, the system has taken up 20 GB of the page file. The problem clearly isn't with the browser, because it can even happen when I'm watching a video in a player and it crashes, even though there's plenty of free memory, or the system just starts glitching and the screen flickers for a few seconds.     Legacy Applications (2000-05) Claim to be Out of Memory when Plenty is Available

    Hello,

    I have some legacy applications (98-XP era) that keep throwing out of memory errors when there is plenty of memory available. They are highly specialized software, and no replacements exist. I can run them in a virtual machine, but this is not ideal as I have to move everything over to the VM, which I do not want to have internet access due to security concerns, then move it back. Not just RAM but I also increased the available size for my system paging file, which is roughly double my installed RAM now.

    I have 32GB of ram and 64GB of virtual memory now which I am positive should be fine for applications that haven't been updated since 2005, and are designed for machines that cap out around 4GB. Can anyone suggest anything?
