Windows 10: Outdated device manager drivers - Windows 10 Pro 64bit

I need help with my drivers as they aren't showing up right in Device manager. I have double or triple entries in some of the categories; I have provided a link or file so that you can see what mine looks like. If anyone could direct me in the right path that would be awesome! I think the reason for my mouse studders/issues and also performance issues in the many games that I play is the reason behind these Drivers. -When I fix the drivers that I need will the grayed out devices fix themselves/disappear in Device manager? Also, if/when I get my drivers all squared away and updated; let's say I have some grayed out devices that are still in those sections.. is it OK to uninstall those or not?

-I also don't have any idea what those Microsoft streaming devices in Sound are? Could it be something I need to turn off in BIOS or?

-Lastly, what's the deal with the WAN Miniports?

After Windows 10 install DVD player doesn't show up in My PC

After installing Windows 10 from the DVD drive the drive stopped working in Windows 10. The drive shows in the BIOS, shows in Device Manager under Other Devices with a ? mark. Doesn't show in My PC or Disk Management. This is an Acer Aspire laptop, 7551
series. The device drivers show as not signed. Device manager says in an Optiarc DVD RW AD 7585H. BIOS shows the same name as device manager. Upgrade was from Windows 7 Pro 64bit to Windows 10 Pro 64bit. No other issues.

Can someone help with this.

 

win 7 64 bit release fails with WMDC

Same issue here - Sprint Treo Pro on Windows 7 64bit OS ... only detect the "Generic Serial" device. Looking at Device Manager under Mobile devices it listed "SmartPhone USB Sync"

Driver Provider: Microsoft Corp.

Driver Date: 5/31/09

Driver Version: 6.1.6965.0

The behavior is very unstable under this setup. Sometimes it takes forever for the OS to recognize the Treo Pro. But on another PC (Windows Server 2003 64bits testing purpose) it recognized it immediate and is very stable.

This seems like Windows 7 is lacking on device support for the Sprint Treo Pro...

This was on a baseline Windows 7 64bits PC so there isn't much variables...

Uninstall WMDC and rebooted, it detected the device but then it becomes unstable... see above.

Any good ideas? Maybe Palm will be releasing a 64bit Windows 7 driver for Treo Pro?

The greyed out ones won't just fix themselves, you need to uninstall them. After you uninstall them, you can do a Scan For Hardware Changes to double check if Windows thinks it needs any of them *Smile

Keyboards / Mice & Other Pointing Devices / Monitors - Yes you can uninstall the greyed out ones

Sound Video & Gaming Controllers - Yes you can uninstall the greyed out ones for Microsoft Streaming, but a good chance they'll just get put back at some point, so I'd just ignore them.

Software Devices - I would NOT uninstall any greyed out ones

Network Adapters - Do NOT uninstall any of the greyed out Wan Miniport ones.

Mouse Issues - Check Logictech Support for your mouse driver and give it a try,

Simple Driver Update - Never used it so can't comment on it.

 

I would not fiddle about. There is nothing unusual there. Those are not outdated drivers, just some devices currently not connected.

You will know whether you have used other Keyboards, Mice, Monitors. If you are never going to use those again you can uninstall those greyed out ones.

If you know you make occasional use of something like another monitor, I would leave those.

Likewise leave all those greyed out under Network adapters, Software devices, Sound, video and game controllers.
They will come back anyway in due course (I have those as well).

You seem to have mistakenly connected outdated drivers with the greyed out currently unconnected items and your other problems.

For the monitor, I wouldn't worry about installing the driver (which is from 2014). The generic one seems to handle high refresh rates ok.

As others have said, don't go fiddling with devices too much.

 

In device Manager - select View - uncheck Show Hidden devices - grayed out will disappear.

And have you updated them then?

 

As stated, In Device Manager, go to View, and uncheck Show Hidden Devices. If you don't have any yellow flags next to devices, you do not need any drivers, unless your device is not working correctly.
You do not need any 3rd party apps to get drivers. Just go to your Motherboard Manufactures Support/Download drivers SABERTOOTH Z87 Driver & Tools | Motherboards | ASUS USA and download any drivers you need that have yellow flags in the Device Manager.
