Outlook 2016/365 vs. Windows 10 Mail App

    Hello,

I recently got a new laptop and I got MS Office 365 on it. I have been using Outlook one of the programs in MS Office. Never used Outlook Express or any other mini-Outlook programs. I’ve always used the real, complete, desktop program for many years. With Windows 10, I am so confused. I want just the Outlook desktop program, but I have this weird Windows 10 Mail app that keeps sticking up all the time. Can I get rid of it? I already have Outlook installed and working, but I'm not sure if I need the Windows 10 Mail app?

    Or…

Do I have to add my Comcast email to Windows 10 Mail in order for me to use my Comcast email in Outlook desktop/PC software in MS Office 365?

If not, can I delete my Comcast email from the Windows 10 Mail app? I don’t know how it got there maybe by error when I was initially setting up my new laptop?

If you don’t know what I mean by Windows 10 Mail App, Windows 10 Mail is found this way:

    1. Click on START icon

    2. Click on COG Settings icon in start menu

    3. Click on ACCOUNTS icon

    4. Click on EMAIL & ACCOUNTS icon on left menu

    5. See email account under the heading “Email & accounts” and subheading “Accounts used by email, calendar, and contacts”

    6. I see my email account there, but I don’t want to have it there if I don’t have to.

I understand that Windows 10 Mail App used to be “Outlook Express” and I do not want to use that. I want to use the regular, traditional desktop/PC software Outlook the kind that comes in Office 2010, Office 2013, Office 2016, Office 365, etc..

In short, I want just one email account to handle. I don't want to handle two.

    Thank you.

    :)

    Outlook (2016 / 365) Integration with Windows 10

I am running Windows 10 laptop and want to connect to my professional e-Mail. My organization recently joined Office 365 program but with the security restrictions (including specific login workflow when connecting from not-organization-owned device), I cannot use the standard Windows 10 Mail/Calendar/Contacts App and have to use full version of Outlook (2016/365). This is not per se an issue but I am lacking some integration with Windows 10: - Live tiles (possibly separated for Mail, Calendar, Tasks - Contacts & notification for contacts on the taskbar - Sharing (from other Apps such as Photos/Pictures) with Outlook Are there ways to "nicely" get around this issue (without both connecting Outlook and the standard Apps to the mail/calendar accounts which, anyway, wouldn't work for my professional e-Mail account)?

  3. outlook 2016 in windows 10. notifications are on but don't work

Are you using the Windows 10 mail app or Outlook that comes with Office 365?

To view unread mails in Outlook 2016, click By Date in the message list and choose Unread - they moved the unread button there.

You need notification enabled in Windows 10 settings and in Outlook 2016's File, Options- look on the Mail page.

  4. Outlook 2016/365 vs. Windows 10 Mail App

Windows Mail group email; Outlook 2016

    Windows 10. Surface Pro 3. Office 365

I've defaulted to Windows email since I don't have to time to make Outlook 2016 link to Outlook.com, an issue I'll resolve later.

I cannot find a way to create a group mailing list, although there were some old suggestions relating to Vista, which said that a right click in an open space in the Contacts app would generate an option to create a group. This hasn't been my experience.

Does anyone have a suggestion to make this happen?

    Thanks
