Outlook 2016 not talking to Exchange 2010

    Hi There,

I'm trying to configure Outlook 2016 on Windows 10, connected to a local network. However if I auto set up Outlook it doesn't go through and comes up with
''the Microsoft exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service''.

I can ping the server and am getting information back but for some reason when in Outlook, even if I manually try and connect it just won't go through.

Any ideas, or any other forum posts with people having the same issue?

    :)

  2. Calendar deleted in Outlook/Exchange is not updated in WP calendar setting

    Same here,

    Exchange 2010, Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016, WP8, WP8.1, WP10

Information about former linked ICS Cals is definitely stored somewhere in the exchange account.

Every new Client / Device brings a old and long list of ics-cals back!

Right now it's ab PROBLEM on WinPhone 10, Cal-App Crashes in the Cal-List.

=> Where to remove the Information from the Account?

  3. Problem with registry setting default e-mail client

OK - so now I am 100% fixed.

The problem was in removing Outlook 2016, without destroying my Outlook 2010 system. The answer was in forcing the Outlook 2016 to uninstall, with the online utility (Windows 10 actions all failed). Outlook 2010 then failed to load. By going into the office
suite and removing, restarting and then adding a component, Outlook remained activated and started to work again. The outlook.com Exchange account still failed to load and had to be added within Outlook 2010, by using an Outlook.com recognised email address
    and not an alias.

I'm back to 100% operation again and happy, so thanks for your guidance Outlook 2016 not talking to Exchange 2010 :)

Outlook 2016 not talking to Exchange 2010

I had this issue and had to rollback to Outlook 2013 in my case (go back to the Office 2013 CD & just select the Outlook component)
IIRC I had to uninstall the Outlook 2016 else it didn't work (use the Office 2016 CD)
When you then insert the Office 2013 CD it knows what's missing and just initially selects Outlook Outlook 2016 not talking to Exchange 2010 :)
Unless you've got any influence over the Exchange baseline it's the only option
It's a compatibility issue with the Outlook client & Exchange server, it's not a WinX issue per se

Outlook 2016 uses autodiscover to connect to an Exchange server and I don't think you can set it up without. That is a change from previous versions. It needs to be set up on the Exchange side (AutoDiscover Service).
I believe this is just for new accounts though. Existing accounts should work regardless.

    Thanks for that guys,

How do you set it up on the Exchange side? I have access to the Exchange server but not sure how to configure it to connect in this way. I'm currently connected on another machine (win 7) running Outlook 2010 and picking up emails just fine. Is there something that needs to changed in Exchange specifically for Outlook 2016?
