Windows 10: Outlook 365 password amnesia.

After the most recent update, my Outlook 365 Outlook 16 seems to have caught the password amnesia. I use Outlook to connect to my school email which is an Exchange account. Now when I'm using outlook I am continuously bombarded with the Windows Security prompt asking me to re-enter my password regardless if I check off the box to remember my credentials or not.My troubleshooting so far:1. Made a new profile2. Completely removed the account and added it back3. Went in to Credentials Manager and removed mention of my school's account4. Added a new DWORD ExcludeExplicitO365Endpoint value of 1

While configuring outlook password windows disappears

Greetings, if the password windows disappears when configure your account, I suggest you try the follow steps to configure your Office 365 account in Outlook desktop client. in this way, there is no need to type in password in new pop up window.

1. Please right click on “Start” button > click
   search > type "Control Panel” in the search box.
2. Find and click the Mail > Click
   Show Profiles.
3. Click Add >
   type in a custom profile name > then type in your Office 365 account and password >
   Next > Finish.
4. Start your Outlook with this new profile.

If it still doesn't work, to better help you, may I know if you configure the Office 365 account or other account type in your Outlook desktop client? Meantime, please provide your detailed Outlook version for us.

Systemwide password amnesia (v2004 build 19041.173)

How did you determine which program was conflicting with Windows 10 2004 to cause your Password Amnesia?

I'm also on build 19041.329 with the recent June Update and I'm having various problems with saved credentials. For example, the email passwords I've entered into my Outlook 2019 work for days but after every reboot they only work for about 45 minutes,
at which point these passwords simply GO BLANK and have to be manually reentered.

This behavior makes me suspect a conflicting program like you discovered.

Clearing all the cached entries in the Credential Manager does't solve the problem.

Any other suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

 

Disable new search bar in Outlook 365

OK. There is a way to disable this new search box in Microsoft Office 365. For Outlook:

1. Open Outlook 365.
2. On the lower left-hand corner click options.
3. In the User Interface options under the General Tab, click the checkbox Collapse the Microsoft Search box by default.
4. Click OK.

The search box will now disappear. However, disabling this option would only work on that application. If you open Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, you will need to do these same steps to disable the search box (if present) as well. Let me know if this works for you.
