    Outlook and Onedrive Sign-in Issue

Hi all, currently having a strange issue with our organizations outlook/Cffice365 accounts and having them sign in properly. We have some staff computers that we all use throughout the day and will sign in/out of our respective accounts as we use those computers. This normally worked fine, but we have a new issue that occurs seemingly randomly where if a previous user signed out and someone else signs in on their own account, they can't seem to get into OneDrive without seeing another user's display name showing in the top right and a mostly blank screen. The only way we can seemingly fix the

    signing into onedrive

    Hi JoelDavial,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are unable to sign in to OneDrive on your Surface Pro. We do have a dedicated team, which supports issue related to OneDrive. Meanwhile you can try the following steps and check if that helps.

I would suggest you to check if you are able to login to
    OneDrive
website. If you are able to login to the website, then please try downloading the
    latest version of OneDrive
    and check if that helps.

However, if the issue persist I would suggest you to contact OneDrive support team. You can follow the steps below to contact the OneDrive support team.

Sign in to OneDrive.com from any browser, click the '?' help icon on the top banner of the page and select
Email OneDrive support. Submit your question and follow the prompts to request support.

    Thanks,

What to do if Outlook or OneDrive Android apps won't let you sign in

If you're having problems signing in to some Microsoft apps like Outlook or OneDrive on Android simply follow this guide. It worked for me when the web-based password screen kept crashing on each of these apps.

First, reset the Office account on your device:

    1. Ensure no Microsoft accounts are stored on your device. (Office, Outlook, OneDrive or MS Exchange)
    2. Back-up any Office documents to an SD card or PC. They should be safe but it's always best to take precautions.
    3. Re-install all of your Microsoft apps, this will force them to do a first time set-up. (If they're factory installed then uninstall updates and clear data for each app then update them again.)

Once you've done that open Word and log in to it using the Microsoft account you are trying to add. This will save your email and password as a new "Office" account on your device. (The web-based sign-in screen shouldn't crash on Word as long as it asks
you for an email first. It may also work on Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote etc. but I only tried it on Word.)
If you don't have Word then just download it from the Play Store for free then uninstall it afterwards if you don't need it.

To add the account to Outlook:

    1. Open Outlook and go to the Add Account page.
    2. Outlook will search your device for accounts. Select the account you want to add and tap "Add Account"

To add the account to OneDrive:

    1. Open OneDrive
    2. Enter your email and tap "Done" or the "next" arrow.

If done correctly, Outlook and OneDrive will bypass the password screen by taking the password directly from the stored Office account.

To add multiple accounts simply follow the steps above then sign out of Word and then sign back in again with your other account and follow the steps for the relevant app again. Repeat this for each account you want
to add. (Only one personal account can be added to OneDrive but you should still be able to add a business account with this method. I don't have one to test it with.)

To add the account to To-Do (only one account can be connected):

    1. Add the account to Outlook or OneDrive.
    2. Re-install To-Do if you haven't done so already.
    3. Open it and select your account. It will automatically find your password and sign in.

Once you've added all your accounts remember to go back to Word and sign back in to your preferred Office/OneDrive account. Do the same for other Office apps too if you need to. (You'll definitely have to do this if you have
    a paid Office subscription.)

Unfortunately this method will not work for the Edge app, even if you try to enter your email manually. If you have added the account to Office, Outlook or OneDrive you will still be able to store favourites
and history on your device but you cannot sync with other devices without password verification. If anyone can find a work-around or fix for this then please post it below.

  4. Outlook and Onedrive Sign-in Issue

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
