    Outlook Client stopped working - Will not connect with new password


    A couple of days ago, my sbcglobal.net account quit communicating on my phone, my wife's phone and the Outlook client on our PC. I thought my account may have been compromised, so I changed the password. I am able to connect through yahoo.com through my browser. For both phones, I was unable to just change the password to the new password, but once I deleted the account and then re-add each of the accounts, I was able get to email. However, I cannot get this working on the outlook client on my PC.


    For POP Account Settings:

    Incoming Mail

    Server - pop.mail.yahoo.com Port 995

    Check for This server requires and encrypted connection SSL/TLS

    No check on Require Logon using SPA


    Outgoing Mail

    Server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com Port 465

    Encryption SSL/TLS

    No check on Require Logon using SPA

    Check for My Outgoing SMTP server requires authentication


    Did something change recently? Any ideas?

    Email clients not remembering passwords

    Hi all

    A friends computer will not remember his gmail password. He used to use outlook, and seeing that I use thunderbird and it would be easier to troubleshoot I installed that for him. Now that was working for a few weeks, and now the same problem is occuring.

    We are 100% sure the password is correct, as we can access the email account through webmail, but the local clients will not remember the correct password. Of course the 'Remember password' button is checked, but still no good.

    It returns with incorrect password.

    Any suggestions?

    While configuring outlook password windows disappears

    Hi Ram2694,

    Greetings, if the password windows disappears when configure your account, I suggest you try the follow steps to configure your Office 365 account in Outlook desktop client. in this way, there is no need to type in password in new pop up window.

    1. Please right click on “Start” button > click
      search > type "Control Panel” in the search box.
    2. Find and click the Mail > Click
      Show Profiles.
    3. Click Add >
      type in a custom profile name > then type in your Office 365 account and password >
      Next > Finish.
    4. Start your Outlook with this new profile.

    If it still doesn't work, to better help you, may I know if you configure the Office 365 account or other account type in your Outlook desktop client? Meantime, please provide your detailed Outlook version for us.
