Windows 10: Outlook.com account

I recently installed microsoft. I can get into my Microsoft account (using a gmail address which is my predominate email address). I had to open a outlook email address. and got an email from the Outlook team welcoming me aboard 2 weeks ago, but never used it to send an email to anyone. I use outlook to connect the calendar between my computer and phone. Today i keep getting messages to supply my password to the outlook.com account for both my computer and phone to access the outlook email in the outlook app.


I supply my password, I know it correct because I WROTE IT DOWN WHEN OPENED the account, but which it does not now accept.


I have to fill in the reset password form, and I don't have recent (or any) emails, 2nd time i submit the form I provided my credit card details, and still get the generic message from microsoft telling me they can't identify me, and how much they value my security. FORGETTING MY PASSWORD, NOT RECOGNISING MY CREDIT CARD AND KEEPING ME OUT IS NOT REASSURING ME!! I am directed to resubmit the form.


I HAVE NO OTHER INFORMATION TO PROVIDE, and no way to get a real person to reset this password.

outlook account config

SO today my friend asked me if i could post this question on the forum:



He wants to configure a outlook account with 1 email, with that outlook account he wants to run the same account in 2 diferent computers he wants the both computer to be connected in network, for example:

• he receives a email and that email is sent to each computer;
• he deletes a email from one computer and it also deletes on the other;
• he moves a email to a folder it also moves on the other computer;

If you guys can help me would be nice!

His email provider should have the instructions for setting up outlook with an IMAP account.

 

Outlook 365 - adding new account problem


Hi steveatootac. Welcome to the TenForums @steveatootac

Don't think I would call this a repair but more an edit.

Click on File, upper left, account settings, account setting. A window should open with your accounts listed. Double click on the account you want to edit, then more settings lower right. The is a tab Outgoing Servers

These are the steps in Outlook 2013 and I don't think much has change to Outlook 2016.
