Windows 10: Outlook new email notification sound does not use selected playback device

Discus and support Outlook new email notification sound does not use selected playback device in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I have searched what must be every audio-setting I could possibly find both from device and application, but I cannot find the root cause of this...     Outlook new email notification sound does not use selected playback device


    I have searched what must be every audio-setting I could possibly find both from device and application, but I cannot find the root cause of this issue.I have a headset set as the default audio device and 2 monitors with speakers built in.Outlook plays all of its sounds over the first monitor's speakers, even though I have selected my headset as the audio device. Every other program as well as system sounds respects the system-wide device selection, no matter how much I switch between my headset and second monitor. Still, Outlook only ever uses my first monitor to play its notifications,

    Turn off "New email" sound in Outlook 2016 (64-bit) on Windows 10

    I'm trying to turn off "New email" sound in Outlook 2016 (64-bit) on Windows 10.

    It seems impossible.

    I've tried the following:

    • Clearing the "New email sound" checkbok in Outlook Mail settings
    • Set Windows sound Notification scheme to "No sounds"
    • Turning off sound Notification in the Notification configuration in Windows. 2 Places: "Microsoft Outlook" and "Outlook 2016"

    Does anyone know how to do this?

    Windows 10 Mobile new Email Notification Sound Not Working - Again

    Device is Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE. OS build: 10.0.15063.297

    Steps taken to re-enable new email notification sounds :

    1 Go to email settings, check all boxes for notifications are on - (includes the greyed out 'Group notifications by account in the Action Centre' which some people believe affects the playing of sounds is checked On).

    2 Go to Settings, Notifications & Actions, Show notifications from these senders:

    i/ Linked inbox (via Outlook Calendar) = On and Sound selected.

    ii/ Outlook Calendar = On and sound selected.

    iii/ Outlook Mail = On and sound selected

    Soft reset device.

    The screen shot looks like that's where she would CREATE a new group. What is on the "Send/Receive" tab?
