Windows 10: Outlook New is unusable because: Defender

Switched to Defender after years of using another security tool.Seems to be working fine, but now I want to switch to using New Outlook.And I get:So, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen blocks outlook.office.com.I understand that this is the 'reputation-based protection' kicking in.Why does Microsoft think that their own reputation is so bad that they need to protect me from themselves?Fortunately Outlook Classic still works.Is this just me or do other people also have this issue? Should I simply disable smartscreen altogether?

No. Also I followed the steps on Manage suggested recipients in the To, Cc, and Bcc boxes with Auto-Complete

cleared this list (Empty Auto-Complete List.)
disabled the option ("Use Autocomplete list..") and again cleared the list
relaunched Outlook in between
still those very old email addresses show up.

I give up.

New Outlook for Windows

In 2024, Microsoft will push the New Outlook for Windows to all laptops and remove the "Mail and Calendar" app.

I just tried out the New Outlook for Windows, and I found it did not work for me.

When comes 2024, can I refused to have the New Outlook for Windows installed on my laptop and stop the removal of "Mail and Calendar"

If that is not possible, would someone please suggest another app that will work the same as "mail"

The main reason for not using the New Outlook for Windows is that it is not possible to have group mailing.

I tried to setup a group contact list. When I entered that list in the "to" field, New Outlook for Windows cannot send the mail. I have to enter all email addresses manually.

Another minor problem is that I have multiple email accounts, each account must have its own contact list when using New Outlook for Windows.

In the Mail app, you only need one contact list, all accounts can use that same list.

Outlook 2016 Flickering in Windows

If you read through the posts, your are providing the same basic steps for correction that every other tech has suggested and they never work.

Microsoft needs to take this issue seriously. We get a new tech every couple of weeks to start the same basic troubleshooting steps and never escalating the issue to a higher tier.

Please escalate this issue. It is debilitating and causes Outlook to be unusable.
