    Outlook/Office 365 - folder views - dotted lines

Hi forum,I'm looking to see if Windows11 has an option to display the dotted lines in the folder views. I have some deep folders in a hierarchical structure, and it's not always possible for me to figure out the layers of the view.Looking for the "old skool" view like thisOutlook/Office 365 - folder views - dotted lines :Does anyone know if this is possible?

    :)

  2. Support for hierarchical folders in Office 365

I currently use a Windows 7 phone together with OfficeSmallBusinessLive and I am currently evaluating a shift to Office 365.

One limitation that I face with OfficeSmallBusinessLive is that the list of folders that I create in Outlook (as my PC email client) can ONLY be a flat list of folders and not a hierachically organised or nested list, as I would be able to do with a full
Microsoft Exchange server or previously with BPOS.

    Two questions therefore:

    - does Office 365 support hierarchically nested folders in mail?

    - ditto for the Windows Phone?

  3. Support for hierarchical folders in Office 365

    Interesting.

I set up a trial Office 365 account yesterday.

Indeed, nested folders can be set up within Office 365 online and in Outlook. On my Windows 7 Phone, however, if I choose the "show all folders" option, it DOES shos a list of all folders and displays the list hierarchically - if you sync a folder, then
the contents seems to be retrieved and the list of synced folders shows only a flat list of folders. Good enough for me - my worry, was that lower-level nested folders would not be displayed or synced at all. It seems to work fine.

Let's hope that going forward to Mango will not remove this functionality.

Support for hierarchical folders in Office 365

    Thanks for replying.

To be clear, I am considering moving to Office 365 but have not tried it out, hence my question.

I'm ok with not being able to create folders on the phone; and indeed with the phone displaying only a flat list (or only those folders that I explicitly sync) but SmallBusinessLive throws a sync error if I try to create nested folders in my Outlook client.
If there is not a simple flat list of folders, Outlook will not sync. So first of all I need to know whether that behaviour is different with Office: according to the previous reply, yes.

I'm a little confused with your reply: you say "on my phone, Outlook Exchange folders are supported to at least four levels deep" - does your Windows Phone display those folders as a hierarchy or just as a flat list? Is this with a Windows 7 Phone?

    Also, the previous poster, "Prof Julie" says Office 365 does support nested folders but seems to say that they can't be displayed on the phone beyond the first level (although not sure what that means, whether the first nested level is displayed or not;
whether the lower level folders are ignored completely or simply not displayed as a hierarchy)

Bottom line is: if nested folders are supported at the server level (and displayed as such in Outlook), how are they displayed at the client level Windows 7 phone? I'm OK that they are not displayed as a hierarchy but I do want to be be
able to choose them for sync rather than be ignored

    Hope this clarifies
