Windows 10: Outlook shortcut + check unread emails in subfolders, restart Windows and memory swap...

I was forced to switch from Mac Mail to Outlook 365 on Windows.It would be helpful to have a shortcut to expand and collapse the main folder with its respective subfolders.Furthermore, if there is an unread email in a subfolder, it would be useful to have indications on the main folder, and as you open the subfolders, clear indications of where the unread email is located.In essence, replicating the useful features of Mac Mail on Outlook 365 for Windows.As a final useful feature, in the event of a Windows shutdown or restart, it would be beneficial to reopen the apps from the last session with

There's a possibility that your unread emails could be saved in one of the subfolders in your inbox. For us to isolate this problem, we suggest checking and expanding all subfolders in your inbox and see if there are unread messages. If there are no unread
messages, then Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps to help us determine and address the problem.

In case the problem persists, we suggest that you refresh your email notification by turning off/on the email notifications in Windows 10 Mail app. Here's how:

• Open the Mail app.
• Click the Settings icon at the bottom of the page, then select
  Options.
  
• In the top drop-down menu, select the email account where unread messages show up and scroll down to the Notifications settings.
  
• Turn off/on the Notification.
• Close the Windows 10 Mail app, then relaunch it.

Emails not sync in win10 outlook in subfolders through Rules

Thank you for your suggestion.

I've followed that step, but no go 4 me.

The emails in the Inbox and Sent Items are synced well, but emails in the subfolders* not.

*subfolders: in the Inbox, I create a folder which is used to receive emails following certain rules.

This is an awkward problem to solve and one I don't think is worth the time and effort.

The OP would be better off either using a modern webmail service like gmail or outlook.com or using a modern email client like Windows Live Mail like FX-GMC suggested or Thunderbird from Mozilla. If nothing else, Outlook Distress was notorious for corrupting its data files and losing all your email in one easy step. Not worth it.
