  1. Outlook update

Back on July 2nd I posted a question concerning One Drive, no one answered but I somehow managed to rid myself of it. I regret getting Windows 10 to this day, a little over a year. In May I got updates I didn't want and as a result of those updates my email was being duplicated. I prefer windows live mail been using it since it came out yet after these updates all my mail was in both accounts. It was a great deal of work trying to keep up with two accounts with the exact same mail every day. Microsoft told me a while back if I didn't keep outlook I would no longer get updates or anything from Microsoft, it was a junk account I got 3 years ago only because I was selling my 2 cars and I wanted to keep them both separate, it was a "spare" acct, rarely used. Recently I somehow managed to talk to microsoft again and the person got me to the point of keeping the acct but not getting any mail in it which suits me fine but for the past 3 weeks I keep getting a pop up box telling me outlook is out of date and needs to be fixed, I keep closing the box because I'm afraid everything will go back to the way it was. I also have an email which shows up in wlm that was never able to b sent so now I have this box also pop up asking if I want to send it, it won't work so I keep closing that box also, I am unable to delete it in wlm and it is not in Outlook.
My apologies for the length of this and the confusion it must cause, I can't keep up with it either but how do I stop these 2 boxes from constantly popping up? It's an absolute disgrace what microsoft has done, i never got updates other than the security ones, with windows 10 u have no control, if I could go back to windows 7 i would but they will probably discontinue updates to that also, like all the others. Does anyone have any idea what I can do? I'll understand if no one replies.

Another problem, I've been using messenger for about 6 months, this past week someone from facebook put me into this group, never asked if I wanted to be in it but my phone started blowing up with one night 47 msgs from people in this group. I got on facebook, removed myself from the group but I am getting msgs from a few people, i get both sides of the conversation, I delete them and I still get new ones, how do I stop that?
OK I'm done but if anyone can help please I'd love to hear from you.

    :)

Syncing outlook 2003 and outlook 2007 to a common device

The devcice synced correctly with outlook 2007 and also correctly with outlook 2003, but when I make changes to entries in outlook 2003 or outlook 2007, the device syncs, but does not update the outlook 2007 pc

    thanks for the info.

My outlook account updated emails for about 24 hours again, without doing any changes, and then stopped again. Have not had any outlook email updates for over 24 hours now. Emails can be access with web mail.

I have tried instructions on the thread. All updates are current. Still DOES NOT UPDATE OUTLOOK EMAILS.

I have deleted and added my account I don't know how many times but still will not update Outlook emails.

My other email account (Not Outlook) works just fine and always has.

    Outlook update

First, the Facebook problem has nothing to do with Windows.

Outlook is not a part of Windows. It is a separate Microsoft product (and part of Microsoft Office). I suspect you have Office installed and why you have Outlook. But, you don't have to use it, you can use whatever you want for e-mail. Thus not sure what your real problem is, other than you don't like Windows 10.

There might be a Facebook support site, I don't use Facebook.

Don't use Outlook if you don't like it.

I'd love to come to you in person and look at your computer first hand. I suspect most of the issues are fairly simple to fix but your explanation above is very difficult to understand the exact nature of the problem.

You could go back to Windows 7 but 10 is the future. Try and stick with it and learn how it works. Watch some YouTube videos about the OS.

You might want to try the included Mail app that's linked in the start menu. Its simpler than Outlook and might suit your needs.

Facebook is notoriously difficult to get a hold of as is the case with most last corporations.

    Hi there

if you really don't like OUTLOOK why not try Thunderbird -- works brilliantly --with multiple accounts, IMAP, MS exchange etc etc - and it's 100% FREE !!.

Linux and Windows -- no probs

Thunderbird — Software made to make email easier. — Mozilla

  8. Outlook update

I like WLM, it was all set up last July when I upgraded to windows 10. I don't have Microsoft office no need for it got rid of that a few months ago but all the problems happened when I got the updates in May, everything was duplicated in WLM & Outlook, and now I keep getting reminders that the settings are out of date, there is no way of stopping these reminders, that's what bothers me. I got messenger straightened out I know it has nothing to do with windows I'm not that stupid, someone put me in a group I didn't want to be in so I took care of that.

If I could reinstall windows 10 like you did in the old days I'd do that but probably the same thing would happen with Outlook. I don't use it at all, once in a blue moon maybe, that's it, but I was told if I somehow removed it I'd never be able to get updates from Microsoft, that was back when I was using windows 7.
I wish someone could look at this laptop also but I'll just have to figure things out on my own but thanks for all the replies.

Outlook is NOT part of Windows 10. I may be wrong but I believe XP was the last one that came with Outlook Express. To have Outlook installed, even in Win 7, you would have either installed a version of Microsoft Office that included Outlook or there is/was a separate MS Outlook that could be purchased. Either way, uninstalling Outlook will not affect Win 10 or updates. I used to have MS Office 2003 which included Outlook 2003. I used that for a long time, and even at the beginning of Win 10. It is obsolete and I uninstalled Office 2003 (including Outlook 2003). It had no affect on Windows 10 or Windows 10 updates.

    (BTW, I'm an ex PAer).

Your posts are extremely confusing, containing multiple threads on different subjects, applications, a lot of which are not to do with Windows 10, but various installed applications.

An example - you keep referring to "Outlook" but from your previously posted images, and some detective work, what you appear to be using is the Mail App in Windows 10 on which one of the Accounts setup is an Outlook Mail Account.
I only know because I use the Windows 10 Mail App.

    So, continuing with that.
"I keep getting reminders that the settings are out of date, there is no way of stopping these reminders, that's what bothers me."
I get that sometimes with different Email Accounts setup with the Mail App. You just say yes to update and it will do it, you may have to enter the password again. I would also check your Account settings.

WLM 2012 is no longer supported thus increasingly unuseable. I uninstalled it about 4 months ago.

  11. I understand everything perfectly well because it's happening to me. This HP laptop came with Office & a 1 month free trial that I never used so I uninstalled it. Outlook, Hotmail that's the one with all the problems. When I got those updates in May I started getting the exact same emails in both WLM & Outlook which I think use to be Hotmail, not sure. If I go ahead and let the updates happen to Outlook I'm afraid the same thing will happen. I did get the duplicates to stop when I spoke to someone from Microsoft but I still get the update window which I'm afraid to do, so I ignore it. I really like WLM I wish they wouldn't do stuff like this, I hate changes.

I just remembered another thing that started all this confusion, after the May updates I couldn't get into Windows 10, I was told my password was wrong although I knew dam well what it was because I was using it for months, I was told I had to change it to whatever the password was for the stupid Outlook account that I never wanted and rarely used, that really made me mad, so now I must keep the dumb account and use the same password, if I want to change it I have to do it in both places, and I don't like doing that.

    Hope this doesn't confuse anyone.

    Outlook update

As someone noted is it actually "Outlook.com" (Hotmail) that is the problem?

So you did install Office and now you have the Outlook app? This is the one thing that everybody here wants to know.

You can uninstall Office and that will get rid of Outlook.

  15. I never installed Office, it came with the laptop when I bought it, I left it sit there never using it so I finally uninstalled it a few months ago.

When I was selling my 2 cars 3 years ago I created 2 email accts, Hotmail & Yahoo just to keep the car's separate. I bookmarked the Hotmail Acct and when I click on that bookmark now it takes me to Outlook, don't know if that helps any I just thought I'd throw that in there. I just don't like it, I don't like the fact that the 2 Outlook & Windows 10 have to have the same password, why didn't this happen last July when I got Windows 10? No it happened this past May when I got updates that I don't even want.

I have another problem but I'll go somewhere else, don't want to confuse anyone.
