  1. Overall volume levels on my laptop keeps going down despite speakers been set at max

The sound on my laptop has increasingly decreased over the last month, the driver is working fine and I've checked "manage audio settings" and "adjust system volume" and all the settings are set at max.

    Any ideas please?

    :)

  2. Speaker Levels settings are lost when volume is set to zero.

My issue is exactly the same as in this post : Speaker Balance resets when volume is turned down to minimum? How can I permanently set balance?

I am setting custom levels for my speakers but as soon as I reduce the volume to 0. The settings are lost.

    How to reproduce :

    1. Open your speaker properties.

    2. Go to the "Levels" tab.

    3. Click on "Balance" and set custom levels that are different for left and right.

    4. Lower the volume to 0, then bring back the volume up.

    5. Notice the custom levels are lost.

You can even do it while the "balance" window is opened and you see the problem clearly.

This is clearly a bug and it seems to have been there for at least 2 years. Are there any plans to fix it ?

If not, is there a software you recommend using for handling the speaker levels since windows doesn't do it properly ?

    Thanks,

    Alexis

  3. Win 10 / Max Speaker Volume Decreased

Ever since I installed the Win 10 upgrade, my speaker volume output is only about half or less than what it used to be. I cannot hear skype calls, music, movies, any sounds at the level they used to be at. I have turned all volume bars to max and still
can barely hear anything even at max volume.

Is there something I can do or do I just need to rollback to Win 8.1 until this is fixed?

Overall volume levels on my laptop keeps going down despite speakers been set at max

    JBL Speaker volume control problem

Click on the speaker icon bottom right and set the volume to 100%. Play some music. If it is still low, you may have to increase individual volume controls. Right-click on the volume icon and select mixer while playing the music. See if any volume is low and increase it. Also set the volume to max from Windows Media Player or whichever application you use. Next thing to try is to right-click on the volume, select Playback devices. Click on Speakers, then Properties. Then click the Levels tab to see all levels. Move the sliders to the max to see if there is any difference. Back in the Playback devices, click on Speakers and then Configure. Select Stereo, then click next. Check the box to set the speakers as full range (supporting all frequencies), click next and then finish. See if this makes any difference. Also unplug and re-plug the speakers, in case there is a bad contact affecting the volume.
