Windows 10: Overclocking in Windows 10 1809 vs 1803

Ever since I updated from 1803 to 1809. I've received a lot of BSOD's.


My CPU used to be rock solid stable at 1.28vcore w/extreme llc & a +0.01 offest just in case for the needed power. After the windows 1809 update, it crashed every hour or two.


Over the period of the next 2months...


I've slowly increased it to 1.29, 1.295 (all with extrme llc and +0.010 offset) and it still crashes every few hours. 1-3ish hrs

1.3 crashed err every day or two.
I've just now increased it to 1.305vcore and I'll have to see how it goes. (now peaks at 1.315v when at heavy loads)

I'm not a fan of over 1.3v for daily use since my cpu at stock loads 1.275v. and I don't want to drop my clock by 100mhz.


Any explanations why a simple update caused it? does it have to do with the spectre/meltdown issues wit intel?

I understand that Broadwell e overclock was disabled after the Windows update. However few of our customers were able to resolve the issue by uninstalling the update.



Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the update.

1. Press Windows logo key + R to open
   Run.
   
2. Type appwiz.cpl
   and click on OK.
   
3. Click on View installed updates.
   
4. Search for the update (KB4100347), right on it and select
   uninstall.
   
5. Then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
   

As the issue is related with the overclocking, I suggest you to wait for the manufacturer of the motherboard to support with the issue, as you have already contacted them.

Win 10 1803 to 1809 update

Good day one and all.

My Desktop computer running Win 10 updated from version 1803 to 1809 a while back, but my laptop/notebook running Win 10 version 1803 (As of a Check for updates today 15 Nov 2018 6:30 AM) still hasn't updated to 1809.

I'm assuming the update 1803 to 1809 has now resumed after the earlier problems caused a suspension?

Updates in general on the laptop are coming through as available, for example, yesterday (14th Nov 2018) the "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 1803 for x64 based Systems (KB4467702)" arrived and was installed okay.

Any thoughts, suggestions?
