Overclocking issue : Network connection limits the clockspeed of the processor

    Hi

    Here is the scenario

Workstation processor clocked at 4.3GHz 6 Core

Overclocked tested straight 72 hours, prime95 26.6v (non-AVX) and 72 hours using prime95 27.9v all core 3.9GHz with AVX offset

The workstation is a member of a domain but when the network cable is plugged in the processor speed is at tops of 3.1GHz, unplug the LAN cable, log back in clock speed back to 4.299GHz on task manager.

    Windows 10 Pro 1803

Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
    Fan speeds
    Power limit

    Overclocking to Save Battery ?

Somebody was suggesting me this, to improve the performance of the battery overclock the phone to 900MHz, it will slow down the processor but will save quite a bit of battery.

    My question is

    • is it true
    • How safe it is, will it cause any damage, working, functionality, features of the phone.
    • What side effect, negative effect can it have on the working of the phone.

    inshort is it advisable ?
