Executive Summary

Microsoft has released 86 security updates for Microsoft products (9 critical and 72 important), and 5 patches for non-Microsoft issues (like Chromium).

Windows 10 version 22H2

• Security fixes and improvements
• This update fixes an issue that caused non-admin users to run into UAC prompts when MSI installers/repairs perform certain actions. It affected Office Professional Plus 2010 and multiple applications from Autodesk including AutoCAD. An issue related to WinSock was fixed.

Windows 11 version 22H2 / 23H2

• Security fixes and improvements
• This update fixes an issue that caused non-admin users to run into UAC prompts when MSI installers/repairs perform certain actions. It affected Office Professional Plus 2010 and multiple applications from Autodesk including AutoCAD. An issue related to WinSock was fixed.

Windows 11 version 24H2

• Security fixes and improvements
• An input issue that caused certain apps to stop responding was resolved. A bug that caused Internet Information Services (IIS) modules to disappear from IIS Manager was addressed in this update. A Network Device Interface (NDI) issue that affected audio in apps was fixed.

Known Issue: Installing the KB5063878 can cause audio stutter when Display Capture is on in OBS Studio.

How to download and install the September 2025 security updates


Here is how you install the update immediately on a system:

1. Open the Start menu, type Windows Update, and select the result.
2. Activate the "check for updates" button. This runs a manual check for updates.
3. Activate the "download & install all" button, if the update is not downloaded automatically.

Windows 10 update: start up and sleep issues caused

Dear Vijay,

Thank you for your response: apologies for slow feedback.

Regarding step 1 - doing a restore point : I tried this twice and twice it failed. Now, the date of the update that caused the issue (13/14 September 2019) has disappeared from the history list. Is there a way of finding it, still?

Regarding Step 2- the list of updates installed: the two suggestions above do not seem to appear in the list in the window "Installed Updates".

There are two updates listed for 13 September - Security Update for Adobe Flash Player and Security Update for Microsoft Windows.

Could you advise what I might try next?
