Windows 10: P.C. not waking from sleep

Since installing the 1809 (and 1903) upgrade my P.C. will not longer wake from sleep. If it enters sleep, it will respond to the mouse or keyboard input to wake the P.C., but the monitor remains off. A forced shutdown is necessary followed by a restart that also fails with a little bit of disc activity, the Windows blue logo showing, but no further progress (no revolving dots wait symbol). A second forced shutdown and restart then works. The same problem remained after trying all of the changes suggested by others so as a final desperate measure I did a complete reset of the machine and re-installed Windows, but with no applications added and my video driver disabled using a basic driver the problem remains. Other than not using sleep and letting the machine whirr away wasting electricity or completely shutting it down each time I use it (which is for short periods many times a day) I have no other solution. I am not the only one with this problem - friends have reported the same issue.

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

• Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the command line below:

Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

computer wake-up after sleep

There's a possibility that the settings that enables your Space bar to wake your computer up from sleep was reset after updating Windows. If this what had happened, we suggest that you just re-set it up. See the steps below on how to do
so:

• Press Windows key and type keyboard in.
• Click on Keyboard option and a pop-up windows should show up.
• From there, go to > Hardware tab > Properties >
  Change settings > Power management > Allow this device to wake the computer >
  OK/Apply.

Try the if the steps did work and let us know any updates.
