Package could not be registered Windows 11

I am currently experiencing two issues.

Firstly, any photo or text document I attempt to open gives me the following response:

    Package could not be registered.

Executing both a sfc /scannow and a DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth in cmd and powershell did not resolve the issue.

In reference to this post, Redirecting, the Windows Store app does not show up in my other troubleshooters section.

Following that, I realised I was unable to run specific apps such as paint, photos, Microsoft store, etc.

Worried that it might have to do with malware or security issues, I checked my windows defender.

When clicking on use recommended settings, I get the following error:

Windows Defender Firewall can't change some of your settings. Error Code 0x8007045b.

To be safe, I downloaded and ran the Microsoft Support Emergency Response Tool.

However, it did not detect any problems.

So I am unsure as to how to proceed with fixing my desktop.

Finally, I am running the latest version of Windows 11.

    Thank you
