Windows 10: Package KB5018483 failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x800f0922.

HiI have been receiving this error when trying to install the KB5018483 update. It apparently fails at 97% during the restart and has done this three times, once from the update page in Settings and the other twice when installed manually from the update catalogue. The Windows Update page shows this:But in the update history just below that, it shows this:The event viewer has two entries regarding this. The first one is:Windows update "Update for Windows KB5018483" was successfully installed. Command line: ""C:\WINDOWS\system32\wusa.exe

Windows Updates: Package failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x800f0922

I am trying to install an number of updates and they keeps failing with:

Package KBXXXXXXX failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x800f0922

I have tried everything except reinstalling the OS (other updates are installing with out issues)

Any ideas

Thanks for the troubleshooting steps. I think I essentially did this when deleting the items from the folders you had me rename minus a few steps.

I did however did everything you asked to a "T" but the outcome was still the same. Windows 10 searched and tried installing the updates when I shutdown. Rebooted a few times. Told me the updates couldn't be installed and backed out.

I did copy the PowerShell log and actually video'ed the update/restart process if for any reason you would want to see it.

Anymore ideas?

 

Package KB3194496 failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x800f0922.

I have been trying to load this since the 30/09/2016.

I gone through the events logs with following issues.

Setup Log: Package KB3194496 failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x800f0922.

Application Log: The winlogon notification subscriber <TrustedInstaller> failed a critical notification event.

System Log: The Update Orchestrator Service for Windows Update service terminated with the following error:

The media is write protected.

This really frustrating.
